Think toast is boring?  Think again!  I will show you two healthy and outrageously delicious ways to eat your toast.


Walnut Pesto Toast with Sliced Pears and Gorgonzola Cheese

Serves: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Pesto:
    • 4 ounces extra virgin olive oil
    • 3 garlic cloves
    • 2 tablespoons walnuts
    • ¼ cup parmesan cheese
    • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves , torn
    • ½ pear, sliced
  • ¼ cup crumbled gorgonzola cheese
  • sliced walnuts for topping
  • 4 slices of Dave's Killer Bread

Instructions

  1. Add ingredients to make the pesto to high speed blender or food processor in the order displayed.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Toasts bread until light brown.
  4. Spread pesto on toasts.
  5. Add sliced pears and top with cheese and walnuts.
  6. Serve immediately.


Strawberry Almond Butter Toast with Chia Seeds and Chocolate

Serves: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of Dave's Killer Bread
  • ¼ cup almond butter or another nut butter
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • ¼ cup chia seeds
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips, melted

Instructions

  1. Toast bread until light brown.
  2. Spread 1 tablespoon almond butter on each piece of toast.
  3. Top with sliced strawberries, chia seeds and melted chocolate.
  4. Serve immediately.
