BIG DAWG CHILI CHEESE DOG​

Serves Six

INgredients

CHILI

  • Serves 6​

  • 1 lb ground beef​

  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced​

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced​

  • 1 tbsp tomato pasteServes 6​

  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce​

  • ½ cup beef broth​

  • 1 tbsp chili powder​

  • 1 tsp paprika​

  • ½ tsp cumin​

  • ½ tsp salt​

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

CHILI DOGS 

  • Serves 6​

  • 6 Dave's Killer Bread SandwichRolls Done Right​

  • 6 all-beef hot dogs​

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese​

  • ¼ cup diced red onion​

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley orchives (optional)​

  • Yellow mustard, for serving​

Directions

Make the Chili

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, about6–8 minutes.​

  2. Stir in the garlic and tomato paste; cook for 1 minute.​

  3. Add the tomato sauce, beef broth, chili powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.​

  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.​

Cook the Hot Dogs

  1. Grill, pan-sear, or boil the hot dogs according to your preference until heated through.​

Toast the Rolls

  1. Split the Dave's Killer Bread Sandwich Rolls Done Right and lightly toast them on a grill, skillet, or under the broiler until golden.​

Assemble

  1. Place a hot dog in each toasted roll.​

  2. Spoon a generous amount of homemade chili over each hot dog.​

  3. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, diced red onion, and a drizzle of yellow mustard.
